Who we are
Student Advocacy, Inc. (SAI) was established in 1982 and is a non-profit education advocacy agency. We are composed of highly trained attorneys (some of whom are former teachers) and education advocates who have devoted their careers to ensuring that students get the support needed for educational success.
Located in Elmsford, New York, Student Advocacy serves students and their families in over 40 school districts and special act school districts in Westchester and Putnam counties who are struggling in or denied access to school. Student Advocacy advocates work to protect the educational rights of students, ages 3-21 years, regardless of income, race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or immigration status. Student Advocacy clients and their school related concerns are as diverse as the population who reside in Westchester and Putnam Counties. The common thread is that these students are struggling or denied access to school and appropriate services. Student Advocacy’s services are provided at no cost to families or on a sliding scale.
