Get Involved

Thank you for your interest in getting involved with Student Advocacy, Inc. The gift of your time helps to ensure that all children and youth in our community can access the educational resources they need to fulfill their potential and thrive.

Engagement Opportunities
Over Coming the Odds (OTO) Selection Committee – Each spring we host our Overcoming the Odds Awards Celebration where we honor students in our community who, despite facing significant challenges, have made education and giving back to their communities a priority.

Nominations are received from our education attorneys and advocates and from school personnel throughout Westchester County. Selection Committee members read the nominations and meet virtually to discuss and select the student honorees, who will be recognized and celebrated at OTO in May.

Overcoming the Odds Event Committee
When you join the OTO event committee you will collaborate with board and community members who are actively engaged in planning, promoting, and securing sponsorships for the event and so much more. Committee members help us create a memorable event for all who attend while raising vital funds for our organization.

To learn more about these opportunities contact Jamie Stone, Development Manager, at jstone@studentadvocacy.net.

Board Service
Our board is comprised of dedicated community members and business leaders who believe that all children and youth, especially those with learning, developmental and physical disabilities, and other complex challenges, should be able to receive knowledgeable legal guidance on education matters at no cost to families with limited financial resources.
